For years Jack Thompson has been
working diligently in the hog business. He found no trouble
spreading the love for raising hogs and competing to his two sons and
daughter early in their lives. After some success in Maryland,
the Thompsons made the move to Pulaski, Pennsylvania, which they have
called home for 11 years.
They currently run a farrow to finish operation on a farm that has been
in the family for many generations. While taking care of more
than 100 sows and over 600 total hogs takes a lot of time, they also
raise dairy cows and sheep.
There has been heavy emphasis on the show pig industry since coming to
Pennsylvania and some successes have been enjoyed along the way.
While satisfying their market hog buyers and show pig buyers alike, the
Thompsons have proven that a breeder can meet market and show pig
demands simultaneously.
